The Welding Shop is an extremely well-known name especially in the South of England. It was established in 1970 by a top class welder in the aerospace industry, a Mr Roy Pritchard, previously of Hillier Aircraft Engineering. The company in those days had several industrial clients in the aircraft and atomic energy/oil & gas industries as well as many more commercially based customers. The company was also famous within the world of repair welding.
We bought the company in 1991 as he drew closer to retirement and as we jointly had considerable experience in the aircraft and marine industries were able to continue to service these existing clients, whilst also expanding the company’s horizons further afield into the construction industry, shop fitting trade and into manufacturing products for the automotive and railway industries.
By the end of the 90’s we were mainly working for the facilities industry (Prudential), the automotive and roofing supply industries as well as having developed strong links with local authorities.
Since then we have completed many projects for Eurostar, KPMG, EY, NHS, C of E, Reading Borough Council and our current geographic area covers from Plymouth to Leeds, and Swansea to Southend-on-Sea.
We are a small family business and look forward to serving the engineering sector for many years to come.
